WE ARE

ASPA

The Audiovisual Sustainability Professional Association

About ASPA

ASPA brings together practitioners in sustainability roles in the audiovisual industries to establish professional standards, campaign for industry recognition and working conditions, and advocate for truly sustainable audiovisual production.

We assert that an effective, fair and just sustainable development transition in the film and television sector depends upon the integration of sustainability professionals and departments.

Sustainability professionals are key stakeholders bringing vital expertise. They link productions with Institutions, vendors and certifiers, collect data and provide education.

ASPA represents sustainability professionals from many countries around the world to create a global network of change leaders.

Who do we represent?

ASPA represents professionals working in sustainability roles in audiovisual productions, such as film and tv . We represent role holders on the production level, i.e. sustainability consultants, coordinators, and production assistants. We DO/DO NOT represent roles working solely on the business level e.g. corporate sustainability officer, however we acknowledge that professionals may work on both production and business levels and welcome all who do production work regardless of involvement with other projects.

ASPA is open to both freelancers and in-house workers in consultancies, studios, and production companies, as well as students in training programmes for sustainability roles.

The Manifesto

Together we have created a manifesto, outlining the core characteristics of a sustainability professional in the audiovisual industries. While there are many differences in regulations for and expectation of this role, the aim is to consolidate on a global level and set a standard for this practice.
